The 78PTC style Derby boot is designed to give the ‘best of both’, it has the looks of a smart dress boot & the strength of a William Lennon boot all in one.
This style is made to order. Please allow 20 working weeks for delivery.
As standard, the 78PTC specification is:
Leather: Dark brown full grain, veg tanned hide
Collar: N/A, fabric pull loop
Tongue/Overlay: Half bellows tongue
Thread: Dark brown
Eyelets: Antique brass
Toe: Polycarbonate reinforced toe-box
Last: Army semi-sprung
Shank/Counter: Wooden shank, polycarbonate counter for extra rigidity at the heel
Sole finish: Triple leather sole finish with thin rubber heel
Laces: Brown leather

I have had my boots for three years and they are still going strong. I have the commando sole fitted as this was the option at the time, and with all the walking I do there is minimal wear. Well made and very comfy (once broken in). These will last me a life time!

Had a custom pair of these made up in two tone black Scotch grain and mahogany brown full grain leather. Have walked for miles in them, dug the garden, stamped down slabs and generally abused them but a quick wipe down and a bit of ledergris and they hardly look broken in. I reckon by the time you are throwing your worn out Timberlands in the bin, a pair of Lennon’s might be just about broken in. Toughest made boots anywhere and British too!

I’ve had a pair of these boot for around 10 years. I use a stick on sole (gone through quite a few of those and countless heel rubbers. These are my everyday boot. With a pair of cork insoles these boots are like slippers. Cool enough to go hiking in 35° temps, roomy enough for my favourite merino socks to keep me toasty in winter. Occasional cleaning with saddle soap and the application of beelan keeps them in great condition.
They are now scraches and scarred all over but still look fine and buff up to an amazing lustre.
If you like boots (and if you are reading this you must do) get a pair of these. Tough enough to work in, comfortable enough to walk for miles, smart enough to wear for any occasion.
