Description
The 268 style Hill Boots are best suited for walking and hiking on rough ground, up hills and fells and on soft terrain. Produced on our fully-sprung last, the turned-up toe on the finished boots gives aid to walking up & down hillsides. Traditionally used by shepherds for over 150 years, these boots work hard all day everyday and are the ‘short tab’ version of the X10 style.

Leather: Black reverse kip butt hide, tanned in the UK
Collar: N/A
Tongue/Overlay: Half bellows tongue to minimise dirt and water ingress
Thread: Black
Eyelets: Punched holes only – no eyelets
Toe: Polycarbonate reinforced toe-box
Last: 88 shape fully sprung last / semi-sprung finish available if requested
Shank/Counter: Wooden shank, polycarbonate counter for extra rigidity at the heel
Vibram sole finish option: Leather resin throughsole, Heavy duty one-piece Vibram rubber sole & screwed toe and heels
Leather sole finish option: Triple leather sole, treble hobnails, toe plate and metal horseshoe heel.
Laces: Black leather

I have just spent 4 days walking in the Highlands with these boot which I had made in tan leather with leather sole and hobnails. They are superb, I have owned them now for 2 years and use them regularly they are as comfortable as slippers and look the same (with a little brushing and oiling) as they did on the day they arrived. Quality of this kind is seldom seen in the modern world.
