Worth every minute of the lengthy wait for these to be made! I already love them. The quality of the workmanship is superb, they are beautifully put together by people who clearly take pride in what they make. They are substantial boots, which reflects the excellent quality of the leather and other materials used. All in all I expect them to last for many years.

They feel comfortable and nice to walk in straight out of the box, and will no doubt improve further as they wear in. Thanks to Libs for her advice in choosing the correct size, they fit me absolutely perfectly.

I’m not a reenactor and I didn’t fancy clattering around my local town centre on hobnails, so I went for Vibram Grizzly two-part rubber soles. They are nice and chunky and suits the boots perfectly. The included black leather laces are beautiful, but I’ve swapped them for a coloured fabric pair which really pop against the black leather.

Proper old-school craftsmanship is always worth supporting and paying for, and increasingly difficult to find. If you’re on the fence, do buy a pair of William Lennon shoes or boots, you will not regret it.

    Australian buyer here.

Had mine for almost 5 years, use it daily for yardwork and around the stable; Still looks like new with a bit of mud and minor wear.

Highly recommended the stud sole if you are only using it on dirt and sand, rubber if you are on hard ground.

Note the leather will be tough when it is new (pebble type leather) but after a few wears from walking and bending over, it will break in beautifully.

Saw some people complain about the wait time for the boot, I personally don’t mind it as the boot from WL will pretty much outlive your store-bought boots, it is well worth the wait.

I’ve had my GS “ammo” boots for a year now and they are without doubt the best reproduction ammo boots available. They absolutely look the part when worn with 37 Pattern Battldress and webb anklets.

I own a number of genuine pairs of GS boots and the WL boots are actually more imposing in construction and appearance. The only things that stand out if one is being a proper “stitch counter” is entirely practical addition of a pull loop on the back of the boot and that the screws in the toe iron are of the anchronistic pozidrive style rather than straight slot and that most wartime boots only had four screws leaving one empty as a material saving measure.

A beautifully made pair of boots and a more than worthwhile investment.
